Smoke Alarms Recalled for Failing to Alert Users to Fires
May 21, 2021
Kidde has recalled more than 226,000 smoke alarms and combined smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in its TruSense line.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recall 21-130, the products can fail to alert users to fires. The units included in the recall include Kidde Model Series 2040, 2050, 2060, and 2070. Only alarms with the TruSense logo or “AMBER=FAULT” printed on the front of the alarm are included in this recall. The model number is printed on the back of the alarm, according to CPSC.
Facility managers currently using any of these models should immediately contact Kidde for a free replacement at 844-796-9972 or https://kiddetsalarmrecall.rsvpcomm.com/
