Most facility managers are at least tangentially involved in their buildings’ security and risk assessment plans. But some incidents can escape even the most detailed planning.
Take for instance what happened recently in downtown Chicago. A man was arrested for scaling the 42-story, 588-foot tall Accenture Tower, an apparent political stunt, according to Block Club Chicago. The man was arrested and charged with one count of reckless conduct and one count of criminal trespass to land. This particular stunt was even more dangerous because the building houses the Israeli consulate to the Midwest, and security measures have been especially tight in light of the recent violence.
This is the second time this year the man has been arrested for the stunt, according to USA Today. He also climbed the Chase Tower in downtown Phoenix right before last year’s Super Bowl.
