RECALL: Playground Slide Poses Entrapment Hazard

  May 24, 2018

By Naomi Millán

Three models of Play and Park Structures' SuperMax triple slides have been recalled because a gap between the rails near the entrance way to the slide poses an entrapment hazard. The manufacturer has received one report of a gap posing an entrapment hazard, but no injuries, according to U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall 18-743.

The recalled slides were sold to schools, parks, and municipalities from May 2014 through February 2018. The molded plastic playground slides were sold in multiple colors and have three single bedways and an eight-foot deck. They are age rated 5-12. Model numbers 71717 (triple slide with spiral), 71718 (triple slide hood cascade) and 71732 (triple entrance cascade with square deck) are included in this recall. The model number is printed on the sales invoice.

Facility managers affected by this recall are directed to block access to the recalled slides and contact the manufacturer for a free inspection and repair. Play and Park Structures can be reached at 800-809-4181, service@playandpark.com, or online at www.playandpark.com.
