Portable Heaters Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

  October 22, 2021

Harbor Freight Tools’ Bauer Forced Air Propane Portable Heaters are being recalled due to a manufacturing error that can cause propane to leak from the heater.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the fitting at the back of the heater can be loose, causing the heater to leak propane, which is a fire hazard.

This recall involves about 19,000 units with item number 57176 printed on the labels at the rear of the unit. The recall states that users should immediately stop using the heaters and perform a leak test via these instructions. The company is also contacting users who purchased the product with further instructions on how to tighten the fitting to prevent the leak.

Thirteen leaks have been reported and one fire, but no injuries.
