No two career paths of facilities management and maintenance directors are the same. The profession has evolved a great deal in recent decades as more organizations have understood the critical role facilities play in supporting and benefiting the core mission. As a result, organizations have brought in and promoted maintenance and engineering directors, managers and supervisors and technicians with a variety of backgrounds and experiences to oversee facility maintenance and operations and ensure facility safety, performance and efficiency.
