The U.S. Green Building Council is seeking nominations for five open board of director seats, the council has announced.

USGBC is seeking nominations in the following categories: corporate and retail, education, federal government, professional firms, and professional societies and trade associations. Nominations are open until July 31.

Once nominations are received, the nominating committee will develop a membership slate. Those nominees approved by the nominating committee will then have one month to campaign for a board seat, according to USGBC’s election policies. The election ballot opens Sept. 1.

Among the responsibilities of board members are traveling to three meetings annually and expected to spend about 10 hours each month on USGBC matters.
