Survey Says: Young FMs Are Educated, But Always Looking For More Training
While young FMs are willing to work hard and continuously educate themselves, work/life balance is their No. 1 concern about their jobs.
A Building Operating Management survey of facility managers under 40 found that 67 percent of respondents have a four-year college degree. The same survey found that 63 percent of young facility management professionals have taken steps to put themselves into positions of leadership. Work/life balance is the biggest concern about their jobs — that's followed closely by a lack of resources for properly doing their jobs.
