Are there any best practices around making EV charging fair for all? How can facility managers avoid issues with non-EV drivers?
Each property, workplace or site host is going to have to determine the best transportation policy for their specific needs as no two companies are going to have the same HR policies about EV charging. Some organizations may have sophisticated transportation programs and are providing incentives for use of sustainable resources; others have no programs or intentions to develop programs.
Fairness is an issue and there is a growing body of use cases and policy guidance available from the Department of Energy Workplace Charging Challenge Program. The web site includes information about setting up employee programs as well as etiquette guides and policies for drivers.
