Back to Baltimore: Looking Forward to NFMT's Triumphant Return
After a three-year hiatus, the National Facilities Management & Technology Conference and Expo (NFMT) is returning to Baltimore.

I still remember the anticipation of celebrating our 20th anniversary of NFMT 2020 before the coronavirus shut us down. It was also to be my first industry event since joining the facility market editorial team. It’s unbelievable to think that we haven’t hosted this event since 2019. I’m excited it’s back and I hope many of you will be able to join me as we make our return to the Baltimore Convention Center, March 29-31.
NFMT is best known for its education. This year, we have divided our seminars into "Foundation Sessions" and "Break-Out Sessions." Foundation means just that — it's the building blocks of smart facility management with a focus on safety, technology and sustainability. On the other hand, our Break-Out Sessions are designed for those who really want to grow in their careers. Education will drill down into more detail and provide bigger picture thinking. Topics focus on smart buildings, occupant wellness, operational efficiency and workforce management.
One thing that has been sorely missing during the pandemic is networking with peers. Virtual events have been a nice alternative, but they don't compare with talking to fellow facility managers in person and sharing advice or asking questions. This year at NFMT, we have added six roundtable sessions that allow attendees to get help with their specific challenges. We will also have our annual Women in FM panel and reception, as well as our first-night Networking Party.
Of course, we recognize we are still in a pandemic, so networking, education sessions and the exhibit hall will have attendee safety in mind. Masks will be required of everyone in all indoor public spaces regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status, and hand sanitizer stations will be placed throughout the conference and expo hall. Attendees will be able to print their own badges and attach colored ribbons to indicate their personal comfort level with physical contact.
COVID-19 may still be with us, but it's time for the NFMT live event to return. Three years is too long to be away. I can't wait to see many of you in person as we "Rethink, Reconnect and Reimagine" the facility management industry. See you in Baltimore.
