The next NFMT event is coming up this fall, and Amy Brown, director of education and conferencing, talks about what attendees can expect.

What’s the next event NFMT is holding?

The next National Facilities Management & Technology (NFMT) event is NFMT Orlando on November 14 – 15.

Tell us a little bit about NFMT Orlando.

NFMT Orlando is our annual fall event that ping-pongs between Orlando and Las Vegas. The two-day event is free to attend and will feature over 50 educational sessions and over 100 exhibitors in the expo hall. This is a slightly smaller event than our NFMT Baltimore conference and really allows FMs to get into some targeted discussions with speakers, exhibitors, and other attendees.

Who will be attending NFMT Orlando?

Amy Brown
Amy Brown, director of education and conferencing

Everyone who needs or wants to run their facilities more efficiently and effectively. Between the educational sessions and the products and solutions in the expo hall, we have action steps you can implement immediately. All our events are built with the mid-level facility executive in mind, but there is something for everyone whether you were recently thrown into facility management or you’ve been in the industry for 25 years.

What are some of the highlights for this year’s show?

NFMT Orlando will feature pre-conference workshops (registration fee applies), quality education sessions, QuickFire Sessions in the expo hall, $1,000 daily drawing, networking party, facility tours, and more.

Can you give us a sneak peek at the agenda?

Of course! We are focusing on future trends FMs need to be aware of like lighting upgrades, Internet of Things, machine learning, and new labor and employment laws. Codes, regulations, and standards are all important aspects of managing a building so we will be covering them with sessions on ADA, NFPA 70E, LEED, and WELL Standards. Plus we didn’t forget the day-to-day tasks for FMs like energy efficiency strategies, sharpening leadership skills, effective maintenance planning, and keeping your building safe from fire and man-made threats.

Another important aspect of NFMT Orlando is the expo hall. Who and what will we see there this year?

The expo hall is where the concepts and trends we discuss in the conference sessions really come to life. If you attend a session on “The Future of LED Lighting” you can go to the expo hall and actually see the technology first hand. The expo hall will be filled with everything from roofing products to lighting — IOT to infrared technology. Plus, the expo hall also goes beyond just physical products as you’ll be able to talk directly to some of the industry’s leading consultants and associations.

Where can we get more information about NFMT Orlando and register for the event?

NFMT.com/Orlando is where you can find much more information including a full conference agenda and exhibitor list. It is also where you can register for free. We look forward to seeing you at the Orange County Convention Center, November 14-15.
