Deferred Maintenance: Is Smaller Footprint Better?

The University of Missouri is exploring a “smaller is better” strategy in dealing with its growing backlog of deferred maintenance of facilities. The university’s deferred maintenance grows by $30 million a year, and officials are looking to shrink the university’s footprint by cutting 250,000 square feet from the physical campus.
