Madison, Wisconsin is striving to be a national leader in electric vehicle use, both for its city government fleet and for its residents. Fleet Superintendent Mahanth Joishy is helping lead the city into this venture.

With three solar-powered electric vehicle chargers on site at the city’s LEED Gold fleet building, as well as nearly 100 electric vehicles in its fleet, Madison is starting to realize its ambition.

In this video, we speak with Joishy about the solar EV chargers at the city's fleet service building and the benefits of a renewable energy power source. We also discuss the city's goal of expanding its power source to a microgrid to help achieve the goal of a 900 electric vehicle fleet by 2030.
