DOE Targets Energy Savings in Final Rule on Ice Makers

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has issued a final rule on energy-conservation standards for automatic commercial ice makers, which discusses ASHRAE Standard 29, Methods of Testing Automatic Ice Makers. The DOE is adopting more-stringent energy standards for some classes of ice makers and establishing energy-conservation standards for other classes of ice makers.
