Eye on Energy: White Paper Aims to Enhance Efficiency
11/10/2016%>
The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has published a free white paper that discusses new requirements that help reduce energy consumption in commercial buildings. The paper, NEMA WD ARCP 1-2016 Automatic Receptacle Control to Meet ASHRAE 90.1-2010 and California Title 24, explains the controlled receptacle requirement now appearing in non-residential energy codes, as well as a summary of typical application settings. Standards such as Title 24-2013 and ASHRAE 90.1-2010 and 2013 require that at least 50 percent of all receptacles in designated spaces of a building be controllable, meaning they are able to turn themselves off and on automatically as needed.
