Eye on Energy: Updated Data Terms and Definitions

10/4/2016

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy has released version 2.0 of the Building Energy Data Exchange Specification (BEDES). The dictionary of terms and definitions facilitates the consistent exchange of building characteristics and energy use data between tools and databases in the building energy efficiency sector. Changes in Version 2.0 include new terms and enumerations for energy-efficiency financing and solar photovoltaics, as well as updates and corrections to existing fields based on feedback from developing BEDES-compliant products for early adopters.
