Fifteen members of the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers were trapped in a hotel elevator for up to two hours Friday night in downtown Dallas before their preseason game the following day, according to ESPN.

Several of the trapped people were players, including star quarterback Justin Herbert. Dallas Fire-Rescue reported that the elevator was stuck in a blind shaft between the third and 15th floors.

The people on the elevator were removed one by one through a ceiling panel to an adjacent elevator, the report said.

A motel maintenance technician at the Westin hotel first tried to get the elevator working before contacting the authorities.

The Chargers welcomed the fire-rescue staff to the team’s meal room for dinner after the rescue, which took place about 7:30 p.m.
