Three Workers Die in Charlotte Construction Accident

The workers fell 70 feet when scaffolding collapsed.   January 9, 2023

Three construction workers died after scaffolding collapsed and the workers fell 70 feet at a construction site in Charlotte, North Carolina. A wall also fell on the workers after they fell, according to a WBT Charlotte reporter

The accident happened Monday, January 2. Two other workers were injured and taken to the hospital, but their injuries weren’t considered serious. All work has been halted at the site pending an OSHA investigation. No cause for the collapse has been reported.

According to the Charlotte Observer, 16 construction workers have died in scaffolding accidents in the last 10 years on North Carolina construction sites. This latest incident shines a tragic light on workplace safety
