IAQ Guide Draft Available for Review

A nearly complete draft of Indoor Air Quality Guide: Best Practices for Design, Construction, and Commissioning is available for peer review

A nearly complete draft of Indoor Air Quality Guide: Best Practices for Design, Construction, and Commissioning is available for peer review through Aug. 19, 2008, according to the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

The guidance document will assist building professionals in improving indoor air quality (IAQ) by providing practical guidance on best practices for IAQ in all phases of building design and construction, including those that affect operations and maintenance. The finished guide is expected to include an overview document with an accompanying CD containing more detailed information.

This project started in November 2006. The final result will be the Indoor Air Quality Guide: Best Practices for Design, Construction, and Commissioning, along with an educational outreach effort that includes a satellite broadcast and a professional development seminar.

Organizations partnering with ASHRAE in the development of this design guide are the American Institute of Architects, the U.S. Green Building Council, the Building Owners and Managers Association, the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors of North America, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
