AIA Award Recognizes Educational Facilities



Thirteen educational and cultural facilities were selected for this year’s Committee on Architecture for Education (CAE) Educational Facility Design Awards.




Thirteen educational and cultural facilities were selected for this year’s Committee on Architecture for Education (CAE) Educational Facility Design Awards.

The purpose of the American Institute of Architects’ design awards program is to identify trends and emerging ideas, honor excellence in planning and design, and disseminate knowledge about best practices in educational and community facilities.

The 13 awards were issued in three categories – Citation, Merit and Excellence. The three facilities to win the “Excellence” rating are Indian Community School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Yale University Sculpture Building and Gallery in New Haven, Connecticut, and the Environmental Education/Visitor Activity Center of the National Park Service in  Pennsylvania.
