Budgets in corporate interiors remain tight, but the expectations for an innovative workplace continue to rise. As the general population becomes more design savvy and the C-Suite relies more heavily on the office to drive performance, workplace design is demanding a new level of invention. Technology, branding and modular furniture solutions that enable future adaptability to business needs and a competitive edge are often exempt from budget cuts. Bigger ticket items like conference and private office furniture, however, are more commonly reused. As a result, many interiors today reflect the same sensibility that you see trending in fashion with a mix of high and low, classic and trend pieces. This pairing presents a new opportunity and challenge for the design profession that is resulting in more diverse, one-of-kind workplace solutions.
