GAO Report Targets Building Codes, Resilience

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has released a report recommending that the federal government create an entity to identify priorities for climate resiliency projects. In 2018, at least 14 disasters exceeded $1 billion each in costs. The report noted that the federal government has "made little measurable progress since 2017 to reduce its fiscal exposure to climate change." In the report, "incentives for communities to use and enforce climate-resilient building codes" is highlighted. Click here for more information.
