GAO Report Targets Maintenance and Design

A new U.S. General Accounting Office (GAO) report documents the impact on 78 federal facilities of failing to account for operations and maintenance (O&M) during facility planning and design. The report finds that because the U.S. General Services Administration does not have procedures that call for consideration of the design features might affect O&M, it might not be fully aware of the costs of including these features in its building design and plans. Click here for more information.
