Renewable Energy to Power Next Facebook Data Center

  July 15, 2015

Facebook’s newest data center will be powered entirely by renewable energy, according to an article on computerworld.com.

The company’s investment is reported to be at least $500 million and is the fifth data center for the social media giant. The power will be generated by a 200-megawatt wind project under construction nearby.

The efforts are part of the company’s goal to power its data centers with 50 percent renewable energy by the end of 2018.
