New Tool Calculates Data Center Efficiency

A new tool from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory enables users to calculate electrical system efficiency opportunities in data centers. The updated Power Chain Tool from the lab's Center of Expertise for Energy Efficiency in Data Centers solicits user data on uninterruptible power supplies, power distribution units and transformers, and it identifies energy-saving actions, along with estimated energy and cost savings and payback periods.
