Sit-Stand Desk Converters Recalled due to Injury Hazard

Square Grove’s Sit-Stand Converter model UPL147 has been recalled because the pneumatic lifting mechanism can pinch or break fingers during assembly or use. The company has received two injury reports, one resulting in a broken finger, according to U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall number 16-750.
The recall affects about 750 units, in both freestand and clamp versions. The freestand version sits on a desk that raises and lowers a computer monitor and keyboard by 17 inches. The clamp version functions in the same manner, but clamps to the back of the desk. Both versions are black and the words “UPLIFT DESK” are printed on the product.
The affected units were sold between January and March of 2016.
