The 5PX supports virtualization through integration with the Intelligent Power® software suite, which combines power monitoring with the shutdown of devices or the live migration of virtual machines. The system meters individual devices' energy use down to the outlet-segment level. This allows information-technology (IT) managers to control individual power outlets or groups of outlets across the network, as well as track and reduce the power use of the protected servers and other IT equipment.
