The PI System captures data from sensors, manufacturing equipment and other devices and transforms it into real-time insights. The system accelerates connectivity with remote and mobile assets, Building Internet of Things sensors, and the PI System infrastructure to create solutions at the edge. In addition, where existing control and monitoring systems cannot accommodate new sensors, or are too costly to upgrade, new streams of Building IoT sensor-based data can be added in parallel to existing process data and viewed in a common interface.
