AirTest offers a full family of battery powered, Wi-Fi communicating sensors and integration products designed to make it extremely easy and affordable to retrofit new technology in existing buildings.

Sensor platforms include CO2, temperature, dew point, RH, and remote temperature monitoring for coolers and freezers. The sensors are designed to operate on existing or dedicated overlay Wi-Fi networks.

AirTest also offers a wide range of integration products that makes the products easy to use including:

• A cloud based monitoring service that can provide email and text alarms as well as response tracking when conditions exceed a target threshold.

• A simple way to decode sensor information so it can be easily used by any IP communicating controller.

• Airtest also offers a wifi-to-wire BACnet gateway that can translate the output from up to 200 AirTest wifi sensors into a format easily read by a BACnet, Modbus or SNMP network.

AirTest’s latest product is designed for unitary rooftop heating and cooling units. The RTUiLink family of products allows for a dedicated Wi-Fi network to be set up between a CO2 sensor installed in the space and a rooftop air-handling unit (RTU). This is a fast, easy and inexpensive way to add a CO2 demand controlled ventilation energy saving strategy to an existing RTU. Ventilation costs can be reduced by 10-50 percent by modulating outside air based on actual occupancy as indicated by CO2 levels. It involves installing the sensor in the space and a wireless gateway in the unit. The gateway is designed to provide a CO2 input to the RTU to control fresh air ventilation.

Versions of the RTU gateway are also available that can provide real time fault detection for the RTU. AirTest offers two fault detection options one that detects 10 faults, and a second approach that works with a Belimo ZIP Economizer control that can detect up to 25 faults. The U.S. Department of Energy estimates that more than 65 percent of RTUs currently have at least one problem that significantly impact the energy and operational efficiency of the equipment. Thousands of dollars are lost annually because operators have no idea that equipment is malfunctioning. When the CO2 control/fault detection gateway detects a fault a email or text message can be immediately sent using a on site cellular gateway, to a owner or service group for attention. All information is also available on a web-hosted service. Knowing what the fault is means that the right person with the right skills and parts can be dispatched to immediately solve the problem.
