The standardized ANSI grade one mortise locks feature investment cast stainless for the latch and deadbolt. The latch is assembled with steel friction-proof fingers enabling reduced pressure to close the door. The deadbolt is constructed with two hardened steel pins to resist sawing. By using stainless steel for the deadbolt, the lock qualifies for use in most prison systems where mortise locks are required. In addition to these lock components, Marks USA also has standardized the use of stainless steel on most of its commercial knob and lever designs.
