A solution provides emergency notification that meets NFPA requirements for low-frequency signals in sleeping spaces in hotels, dormitories and other commercial occupancies.

Simplex TrueAlert ES multi-tone horns provide advanced technology and reliable protection to fulfill this critical code requirement. The 2010 and 2013 editions of NFPA 72: National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code have been revised to include 520-hertz low-frequency signaling requirements for sleeping areas in certain commercial spaces, including hotels, dormitories, assisted living facilities and apartment buildings.

The standards were changed in light of research showing that low frequency signals (520 hertz) are the most effective at awakening occupants in the event of a fire or other emergency. In addition to complying with the 520-hertz frequency requirement, Simplex TrueAlert ES multi-tone devices also offer the benefits of addressable notification — easier design and installation, lower costs, advanced reporting, and revolutionary appliance self-testing capabilities.
