Distech Controls, an innovation leader in energy management solutions, has launched an IP-based building automation control and monitoring solution set to empower facility managers: the ECLYPSE™ Connected IP and Wi-Fi Product Series, and ENVYSION responsive, web-based design and visualization interface.
Distech Controls’ ECLYPSE Connected System Controller, part of the Connected IP and Wi-Fi Product Series, is an HVAC controller providing BACnet/IP, wired and wireless IP connectivity. Distech Controls’ ENVYSION delivers the art and science of actionable visual knowledge and powerful user experience. Combined, ECLYPSE and ENVYSION provide multiple benefits for facility managers, helping them to achieve reduced costs, enhanced monitoring and control, and improved responsiveness to occupants.
A key advantage for facility managers using ECLYPSE and ENVYSION is that they can benefit from significantly reduced costs. By converging a building’s IT infrastructure with its building automation system, facility managers are able to reduce operational costs as they are no longer required to manage multiple networks. Distech Controls’ solutions use standard Internet and web-based services for data communication, allowing facility managers to leverage their existing IT infrastructure, efficiently exchange data, and migrate multiple communication services into a single application. These cost savings are further enhanced given that ECLYPSE is implemented without the use of gateways/middle-ware.
Furthermore, ECLYPSE’s ability to deliver wired IP, Wi-Fi, or combination of both, allows it to be implemented to best suit a building’s infrastructure, architecture and layouts, minimizing both impact on the building’s envelope and affiliated installation costs. In addition, utilizing their web connection (offsite), direct IP connection or Wi-Fi Hotspot (onsite), facility managers can easily connect to their controllers and systems, using a PC or mobile device.
ECLYPSE and ENVYSION also enhance the monitoring and control capabilities of facility managers, allowing them to achieve further operational cost savings by maintaining optimum conditions. ENVYSION simplifies complex information into graphical elements that allow facility managers to quickly detect issues, assess cost-effectiveness and take proper actions to optimize resource efficiencies. To this effect, ENVYSION delivers unique dynamic and interactive content, such as floor layouts with heat/cool mapping, playback functions to visualize and replay data for improved alarm diagnostics.
This IP-based solution can further assist facility managers by improving their responsiveness to occupants and tenants. Given ENVYSION’s fully web-based nature and responsive design capabilities, its key information can be accessed by facility managers from anywhere, at any time, and on any device, ensuring a timely response and improved overall occupant and tenant satisfaction. “Distech Controls’ commitment to open protocols, industry and IT standards, combined with our best-of breed technology offering, ensures the longstanding performance and value of a building’s system,” says Trevor Palmer, VP Products and Marketing of Distech Controls. “Now, combined with the empowered connectivity of ECLYPSE and ENVYSION, our solutions go a step further by readying facilities for the future and for the Internet of Things. We truly believe that it is time for facility managers to experience ECLYPSE!” added Palmer.
