The Fastlane Door Detective from Smarter Security uses microprocessors programmed with neural network software. Once an access control system grants access to a user and unlocks a door, active infrared beams from door-mounted enclosures monitor how many people pass through the doorway and in what direction.

The device has a CAT 5 interconnect between the two enclosures for even more efficient installation. The Door Detective also has a separate input that connects with an entry phone system. This allows multiple receptionist-authorized visitors to pass through without alarm, making it more suitable for doors in lobbies of smaller organizations that frequently have visitors. The device also has more infrared beams to better detect attempts to crawl under it.

The device is designed to secure doors and prevent unauthorized access to data centers, records storage areas, R&D labs, health clubs, and other environments where security is critical or intruders can cause material financial damage.
